The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior FP&A Specialist to lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, variance analysis, scenario modeling, and business-performance analysis.

The ideal candidate will combine strong financial-analysis skills with commercial and operational understanding to translate financial and business data into actionable insights, challenge assumptions, identify performance drivers, and support management in making informed strategic and operational decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial-planning activities across assigned business units and functions.
  • Develop and maintain annual operating plans, budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
  • Coordinate budget submissions with business-unit and functional leaders.
  • Establish planning timelines, templates, assumptions, and submission requirements.
  • Review departmental budgets for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Consolidate departmental budgets into company-wide financial plans.
  • Develop financial models covering revenue, expenses, headcount, capital expenditure, working capital, cash flow, and profitability.
  • Maintain detailed financial models and planning tools used for forecasting and scenario analysis.
  • Develop financial assumptions based on historical performance, operational drivers, market conditions, and management expectations.
  • Perform monthly actual-versus-budget and actual-versus-forecast analysis.
  • Investigate significant financial variances and identify underlying operational drivers.
  • Prepare clear variance commentary and management explanations for material deviations.
  • Analyze revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, EBITDA, cash flow, and other key financial metrics.
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets, forecasts, strategic targets, and business plans.
  • Develop management reports, dashboards, and executive-performance summaries.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly FP&A reporting packages for senior management.
  • Translate complex financial information into concise and actionable business insights.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand operational performance and financial drivers.
  • Provide financial analysis to support strategic, commercial, operational, and investment decisions.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of new initiatives, contracts, pricing decisions, expansion plans, and organizational changes.
  • Develop business cases and financial evaluations for strategic and operational projects.
  • Perform scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and stress testing to assess potential outcomes.
  • Develop best-case, base-case, and downside financial scenarios where appropriate.
  • Assess the impact of changes in volume, pricing, headcount, costs, foreign exchange, inflation, and other business drivers.
  • Monitor revenue performance by product, service, customer, geography, channel, or business unit where applicable.
  • Analyze gross-margin performance and identify key margin drivers.
  • Monitor operating expenses and identify cost pressures, efficiency opportunities, and emerging risks.
  • Support cost-control initiatives and quantify expected and realized financial benefits.
  • Analyze headcount, compensation, workforce productivity, and personnel-cost trends.
  • Partner with Human Resources on workforce planning and personnel-cost forecasting.
  • Work with Commercial and Sales teams on revenue forecasts, pipeline analysis, pricing, customer profitability, and commercial performance.
  • Collaborate with Operations to understand volume, productivity, utilization, capacity, and cost drivers.
  • Partner with Procurement to analyze supplier spend, purchasing trends, contract commitments, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Work closely with Treasury to support cash-flow forecasting and liquidity planning.
  • Coordinate with Accounting to ensure planning and reporting data reconcile appropriately with financial records.
  • Support month-end reporting and ensure actual financial results are accurately incorporated into forecasts.
  • Maintain appropriate relationships between operational drivers and financial planning assumptions.
  • Develop driver-based forecasting models to improve forecast accuracy and business responsiveness.
  • Track forecast accuracy and identify recurring sources of forecasting error.
  • Challenge business assumptions constructively and recommend alternative scenarios where appropriate.
  • Identify emerging financial risks, opportunities, and performance trends.
  • Perform profitability analysis across business units, products, services, projects, customers, or markets.
  • Analyze return on investment, payback periods, contribution margins, and financial performance of strategic initiatives.
  • Support capital-expenditure planning and monitor actual expenditure against approved budgets.
  • Analyze project and investment performance against approved business cases.
  • Maintain financial planning calendars, reporting schedules, assumptions, and documentation.
  • Establish standardized FP&A methodologies, reporting definitions, and planning processes.
  • Improve financial planning and reporting processes through automation, standardization, and data-quality improvements.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards using ERP, FP&A, business-intelligence, and spreadsheet tools.
  • Support FP&A system implementations, planning-tool enhancements, and finance-transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure financial models and reports are accurate, traceable, controlled, and appropriately documented.
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality over financial plans, forecasts, budgets, and commercially sensitive information.
  • Prepare presentations and executive materials for management reviews, budget meetings, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Present financial analysis and recommendations clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior FP&A professionals and provide guidance on financial analysis, modeling, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Provide senior management with timely recommendations on performance improvement, resource allocation, risks, and opportunities.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate should have strong experience in financial planning and analysis, FP&A, management accounting, commercial finance, financial modeling, business performance analysis, or corporate finance, preferably within a complex, multinational, commercial, project-based, industrial, technology, or service-oriented organization.

The candidate should demonstrate:
