Senior Health & Safety Specialist

Role Description The Senior Health & Safety Specialist is a part-time remote role responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environment standards across EFU Life Assurance – Karachi Crescent Zone operations. This role includes conducting risk assessments, reviewing workplace practices, and advising on preventive measures to reduce incidents and ensure compliance with applicable health and safety regulations and internal policies. The specialist will design and deliver safety training programs for employees, support management in investigating incidents, and recommend corrective and preventive actions. Day-to-day tasks also involve updating safety documentation, monitoring key safety metrics, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and promoting a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong expertise in Health & Safety and Workplace Safety, with a track record of applying safety standards and best practices.
• Candidates should possess skills in Occupational Health and Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including risk assessment, hazard identification, and regulatory compliance.
• Candidates should possess skills in Safety Training, including designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for diverse employee groups.
• Relevant education such as a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) are preferred.
• Experience in insurance, financial services, or corporate environments, strong analytical and reporting skills, and the ability to work independently and effectively in a remote, part-time capacity.
