Role Description The Senior Payroll Specialist is a full-time role responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes and ensuring accurate, timely compensation for employees. This hybrid position is based in Nigeria and allows partial work from home, while requiring regular onsite collaboration with HR, finance, and management stakeholders. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and processing payroll, validating time and attendance data, managing statutory deductions, and handling garnishments in compliance with local regulations. The specialist will oversee payroll tax calculations and filings, coordinate with payroll service providers where applicable, and maintain detailed payroll records and reports. The role also involves resolving payroll-related inquiries, supporting audits, identifying process improvements, and ensuring adherence to internal controls and company policies.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in payroll administration and payroll processing, with a track record of handling complex payroll cycles accurately.
• Hands-on experience with payroll taxes and compliance, including statutory deductions and reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of garnishments and payroll services, including coordination with external providers and regulatory agencies.
• Proficiency with HR and payroll software, spreadsheets, and data management tools.
• Solid understanding of Nigerian labor laws, compensation regulations, and benefits administration.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across HR, finance, and leadership teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field; professional payroll or HR certifications are an advantage.
• Several years of experience in a senior or lead payroll role, preferably within a growing or technology-driven organization.
