The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer to strengthen our software testing processes and help ensure that applications meet functional, performance, and reliability standards. In this part-time remote role, you will work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify defects, improve test coverage, and support consistent software delivery.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with practical testing experience, understands modern software development workflows, and can communicate technical findings clearly across distributed teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and testing strategies based on product requirements.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and end-to-end testing across software applications.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects, working with developers to verify fixes and prevent recurrence.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate testing frameworks and tools.
• Review requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to identify gaps, ambiguities, and potential quality risks.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Validate application functionality, usability, compatibility, and data integrity across supported platforms.
• Support API testing and investigate application behavior using relevant debugging and testing tools.
• Contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) testing workflows.
• Monitor test results, analyze quality metrics, and prepare clear reports on defects, coverage, and release readiness.
• Recommend improvements to testing standards, automation coverage, and quality assurance processes.
• Mentor colleagues when appropriate and promote a culture of shared responsibility for software quality.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in software quality assurance, software testing, or test automation preferred.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, defect management, and the software development lifecycle.
• Practical experience with testing tools and defect-tracking platforms.
• Familiarity with automation frameworks, programming or scripting languages, and API testing tools is an advantage.
• Understanding of version control systems and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical issues effectively.
• Ability to manage testing priorities independently and collaborate with remote engineering teams.
• Relevant professional certifications are welcome but not mandatory.
