About Fleetlery

Fleetlery is a Hamburg-based Delivery-as-a-Service company on a mission to make last-mile delivery efficient, flexible, and reliable. Founded in 2021, we operate a nationwide courier network across Germany with a pool of 5.000+ couriers, serving B2B customers with smart, end-to-end logistics solutions. Our AI-supported dispatching algorithm, real-time tracking, and bidirectional API integrations set us apart from traditional logistics providers.

We are not just a logistics company, we are a technology-driven platform that is continuously expanding into new cities and building the infrastructure for the future of urban delivery.

About the Role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer who thrives on building the connective tissue of a modern logistics platform. Your core focus will be designing and implementing the integration infrastructure that allows our operational systems to communicate reliably, scalably, and transparently with internal and external services.

This is a hands-on engineering role with high technical ownership. You will work on systems that are central to how our couriers, dispatchers, and business teams operate every day.

Your Responsibilities

Design and build a robust, extensible middleware layer that intercepts, transforms, and routes requests between internal systems and external APIs. Develop and maintain integrations between our operational platform and third-party logistics and delivery tools. Build webhook infrastructure with retry logic, reliable error handling, and idempotency. Implement request and response logging across all integration points for full traceability and debugging. Ensure the integration layer is maintainable and extensible so that new connections can be added efficiently over time. Translate business workflows into clean technical specifications and working implementations. Document architecture, APIs, and integration logic to enable fast onboarding of future engineers.

Your Profile

3+ years of professional backend engineering experience. Strong proficiency in Golang. Solid experience designing and building REST APIs and webhook-based integrations. Proven experience building middleware, API gateways, or integration layers between systems. Good understanding of authentication patterns including OAuth, API keys, and token management. Strong grasp of error handling, retry strategies, idempotency, and fault tolerance in distributed systems. Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases. Comfortable working independently and making architecture decisions with minimal supervision. Strong written English for async communication in a remote-first team.

Nice to Have

Experience in logistics, delivery, or operational SaaS environments. Familiarity with workflow automation tools such as Make.com or similar platforms. Knowledge of queue-based architectures such as RabbitMQ or Redis for reliable message delivery. Experience integrating with third-party APIs that are inconsistently documented or subject to change.

Our Stack & Environment

You’ll work in an environment built on Golang, React, REST APIs, and n8n, alongside various operational SaaS platforms. We’re open to new technologies when they offer a clear advantage, and you’ll have a direct impact on how our platform scales.

What We Offer

Fully remote working environment. Fast decision-making and short feedback cycles. The opportunity to design core infrastructure that every future integration at Fleetlery will depend on. Attractive compensation depending on experience and engagement type.

Interested?

We would love to see what you have built. Please send your CV, GitHub profile, and any examples of API integrations or middleware systems you have worked on.
