Join Nexi and be part of a collaborative, inclusive workplace where you can learn, grow, and make an impact everyday.
About Nexi
At Nexi, we're simplifying the future of digital payments. As one of Europe's leading payment companies, we combine international scale with the dynamism of a fast-moving tech company. With over 9,000 colleagues across more than 25 countries, we're shaping how people and businesses pay and interact every day. Here, your skills, curiosity, and ambition don't just support the business. They help shape what comes next.
Your Everyday at Nexi
We are looking for a motivated and BI-technically skilled professional to join our Supply Chain data team. This person will play a crucial role in building and developing our newly initiated Microsoft Fabric-based data platform, integrating data from SAP and various external sources.
The ideal candidate will combine hands-on data expertise with the curiosity and capability to drive technical architecture discussions, translating business requirements into tangible solutions. In this role, you will take ownership of the front-end, including serve, consume, and reporting layers of our Microsoft Fabric-based data platform, while collaborating closely with a colleague who focuses on the Ingest and Integrate layers (data ingestion, transformation, and preparation). Your main responsibility will be to ensure that data is structured, modelled, and visualised in ways that empower decision-making across our Supply Chain organisation.
About Your Future Role
In this position, you will:
- Design and maintain semantic data models using star schema and dimensional modelling best practices.
- Building and optimizing Power BI datasets and reports that are reliable, intuitive, and aligned with business needs.
- Writing advanced DAX measures and calculated columns to support reporting, KPIs, and time-based analytics.
- Collaborating with data engineers to ensure the Serve layer receives clean and well-structured data from SAP and other sources.
- Translating business requirements into structured data models and reusable reporting assets.
- Working closely with business stakeholders to validate outputs, improve usability, and guide self-service BI adoption.
- Ensuring performance optimisation in Power BI datasets (e.g., aggregations, indexing, efficient DAX).
- Participating in architectural discussions around data governance, naming conventions, reusability, and platform scalability.
- Documenting your work to support transparency, onboarding, and long-term maintainability.
- Staying up to date on Power BI and Microsoft Fabric capabilities and applying new features where relevant.
What We Value in You
We’re looking for someone eager to make a difference. Here’s what we value:
Essential Qualifications:
Hard Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar end-to-end data platforms (Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake).
- Strong experience with data modelling techniques, especially dimensional modelling (star schemas, snowflake models) and building semantic layers for analytics.
- Solid hands-on experience with Power BI, including building interactive reports, dashboards, and data models.
- Strong proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating calculated columns, measures, KPIs, and time intelligence logic.
- Practical experience with SQL is mandatory (PySpark/Python optional), and experience with incremental refresh and real-time patterns is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communicator, able to explain complex data and platform concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly collaborative and able to independently manage technical tasks while maintaining open dialogue with business users.
- Proactive attitude towards engaging the business in using and understanding data.
- Curious, growth-oriented mindset—able to develop from a mid-level role into a future senior or leadership position.
