Founded to transform retail finance, Ajaib Group is an Indonesian fintech unicorn breaking barriers to financial access. Having recently secured a $270M Series C—the single largest funding round in Southeast Asia over the past four years—we are backed by premier global investors including Y Combinator, Ribbit Capital, SoftBank, and SBI Holdings.

To build world-class products, we assemble world-class talent. Supported by our fully hybrid work arrangement, our team spans Eastern Europe, the Middle East, India, and Southeast Asia, allowing you to work with brilliant engineers and builders from around the globe from wherever you are.

Role Overview

We are looking for a visionary, highly quantitative SVP, People Strategy, Org Design who will dual-hat as Chief of Staff to the Chief People Officer (CPO).

In this multi-faceted executive role, you will own Ajaib’s global organizational design (OD), organizational development (ODev), and strategic workforce planning across multi-country engineering, product, and business hubs. You will serve as the primary architect for modernizing the People function—leading all automation, AI integration, systems, and workflow transformations to build a hyper-efficient People organization. Additionally, as Chief of Staff to the CPO, you will establish CPO operating cadence, C-suite and board materials, and People OKRs.

1. Org Design (OD) & Global Workforce Planning

  • Global Organizational Architecture: Partner with the CPO and C-Suite to design, calibrate, and optimize scalable organizational structures, reporting lines, and span of control across all product verticals and regional entities.
    • Define the job architecture and P-level career ladder for every job family.
    • Run org design reviews for new C-suite leaders (CTO, CMO, CISO) as they land.
  • Strategic Workforce Planning: Build dynamic, mid- to long-range headcount and financial modeling frameworks that align talent allocation with business revenue targets, multi-product roadmaps, and international expansion.
    • Build the annual headcount plan with Finance and track actuals against it monthly.
  • Organizational Effectiveness: Continuously analyze organizational health, operational bottlenecks, team velocity, and headcount ROI to recommend lean, high-output organizational structures.

2. AI Integration & Systems Process Transformation

  • AI & Automation Roadmap: Spearhead the evaluation, adoption, and deployment of cutting-edge AI tools, generative agents, and predictive analytics across the end-to-end employee lifecycle (sourcing, onboarding, sentiment, engagement, and internal workflows).
  • HR Systems & Workflow Re-engineering: Lead project management and implementation for system transformations (ATS, HRIS, Compensation platforms, and internal portals), simplifying complex workflows and eliminating manual operational drag.
  • Data-Driven Digital Operations: Establish single-source-of-truth People dashboards and automated reporting layers for real-time visibility into workforce metrics.
    • Build the People dashboard: headcount, attrition, hiring funnel, performance distribution, cost.

3. Chief of Staff to the CPO & People Team Performance Management

  • CPO Operating Cadence: Serve as the strategic thought partner and right hand to the CPO—managing executive communications, C-Suite reporting, board materials, and leadership team operating rhythms.
    • Run the CPO's weekly and monthly cadence, board People reporting and cross-team projects.
  • People Team KPI & Performance Measurement: Establish rigorous performance metrics, SLAs, and target trackers across all specialized People sub-functions (TA, HRBPs, L&D, People Ops, Rewards) to measure output, speed, and business impact under the CPO’s org.
  • Strategic Project Management: Drive critical, high-urgency cross-functional projects across the People org, ensuring seamless execution, accountability, and on-time delivery.

4. Performance strategy and management

  • Performance system design: Own how performance is set, measured and rewarded across Ajaib: goal-setting, the twice-yearly review cycle, calibration, promotions, and performance and development plans.
  • Link to rewards and the workforce plan: Partner with Finance and Rewards so that ratings, pay, bonus and promotion decisions follow consistent rules within budget, and feed performance data back into workforce planning.
  • Humans and AI agents: Define how we measure output and quality when work is shared between people and AI agents.
  • Manager capability: Partner with the VP Learning & Culture so managers can set clear goals, give honest feedback and handle underperformance well.
  • Experience: 12–15+ years, combining top-tier management consulting or strategy (McKinsey, BCG or Bain preferred) with ideally 3+ years in-house leading org design, workforce planning or performance management at a high-growth technology company.
  • Context: Prior experience in a fast-paced, high-growth startup, unicorn or global fintech is strongly preferred.
  • Org design and planning expertise: Deep expertise in organizational development, headcount modeling, job architecture and cross-border workforce planning.
  • Performance management at scale: Has designed or run performance and calibration cycles for 1,000+ employees, including pay and promotion decisions.
  • AI and tech literacy: A proven track record of leading AI tool adoption, HRIS or ATS transformations, workflow automation and process redesign.
  • Chief of Staff or PMO experience: Has acted as a Chief of Staff or strategic PMO lead, with a strong record of setting KPIs, scorecards and operating discipline for large teams.
  • Analytical and commercial rigor: Exceptionally strong quantitative, financial and modeling skills; able to turn complex data into concise executive presentations.
  • Executive presence: Strong communication and influencing skills to build alignment across the C-suite.

What success looks like

  • A lean, highly effective global organization aligned with revenue goals, designed for people and AI agents working together.
  • A performance system that managers trust, that differentiates fairly, and that links clearly to pay, promotion and the workforce plan.
  • AI-driven People workflows that significantly reduce administrative cycle times across the employee lifecycle.
  • Clear, measurable KPI scorecards and high operating efficiency across every team under the CPO.
  • Excellent execution of global workforce transformation projects.
  • Performance Bonus - Get rewarded for the impact you make
  • Private Insurance - Comprehensive health coverage for you
  • Paid Time Off - Take the time you need to recharge and come back stronger
  • Learning & Development - Company-sponsored training, courses, and professional certifications
  • Hybrid Work Arrangement - Enjoy the flexibility of working both remotely and from the office
  • Career Growth - Work closely with experienced leaders and take on meaningful ownership as we scale
  • Employee Perks - Enjoy exclusive discounts, partnerships, and lifestyle perks
  • Collaborative & High-Ownership Culture - Work with smart, driven people in cross-functional teams, take ownership, and make a meaningful impact for our users.
