Our award-winning culture fosters an inclusive, collaborative, and flexible environment that enables our people to thrive. Here, you’ll be inspired and challenged to grow alongside us.
We're committed to reconciliation and supporting the self-determined role for Traditional Owners/Custodians in water and land management.
The Role
The Testing Tech Lead – Asset Domain provides technical leadership across testing activities, ensuring software is reliable, secure and ready for release.
The role leads test planning and delivery across the development lifecycle, working closely with developers, testers, business stakeholders and delivery partners to manage testing, resolve defects and ensure quality from System Integration Testing through to User Acceptance Testing.
A key focus is improving test automation by setting standards, building reusable frameworks and developing automated tests to reduce manual effort.
The role also takes a hands-on approach to testing and automation, while mentoring the team, sharing knowledge and building strong testing capability.
Your Key Responsibilities

- Test lifecycle & ownership – lead and coordinate testing activities across the delivery lifecycle, ensuring effective planning, execution and delivery. Take ownership of System Integration Testing, working closely with delivery partners.
- Team enablement & capability building – assess the team’s current automation skills, identify capability gaps and develop pathways to support the transition. Foster a culture of innovation, learning and continuous improvement.
- Enterprise influence & external vendor engagement – build strong relationships with delivery partners and ensure testing and automation requirements are embedded in RFT and SoW documents
What we’re Looking for
- Proven experience in test automation strategy, including frameworks, governance and adoption.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Karate, Gatling, JMeter, Selenium and Postman, or equivalent.

- Experience integrating automated testing into DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, using tools such as Docker, Jenkins and Bitbucket.
- Strong understanding of IT SDLC, solution architecture and Quality Engineering practices, including Shift-Left, TDD and BDD.
- Experience across performance, security, mobile, regression and integration testing (manual and automated).
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across multiple teams and business domains.
- Experience coaching and mentoring team members to build automation capability.
- Experience with Maximo and/or GIS systems would be highly regarded
- ISTQB Foundation Certification (or equivalent) – mandatory.
