The Healthy African Girl FoundationCompany Description The Healthy African Girl (THAG) Foundation is a registered non-profit organization in Nigeria dedicated to promoting the health and overall wellbeing of girls and young women. The foundation focuses on equipping African girls and young women to take charge of their health through advocacy, training, education, mentorship, and peer-led interventions. THAG’s mission aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 5, advancing gender equality and empowerment for all women and girls. The organization runs interactive workshops, seminars, and storytelling-based programs such as the “Give the Girl A Voice” campaign, Ruby Leadership Accelerator Programme, The Healthy Her Programme, Rise Up Conference and the THAG Peer Educator Programme on Adolescent Health. THAG believes in investing early in girls as future influencers who positively impact their families and communities.
Role Description This volunteer role supports THAG Foundation’s programs and outreach activities through a hybrid arrangement based in Nigeria, with some tasks performed from home. Volunteers may assist with planning and facilitating workshops and seminars, helping coordinate flagship campaigns and peer education activities, and supporting mentorship and training sessions for girls and young women. Day-to-day responsibilities can include preparing learning materials, assisting with community engagement and school outreach, documenting activities, and providing administrative or logistical support to program teams. Volunteers may also contribute to online awareness efforts, participate in monitoring and evaluation activities, and help strengthen partnerships with local organizations and stakeholders. The role is designed for individuals who are passionate about girl-child health, education, and empowerment, and who are willing to offer their time and skills to advance THAG’s mission.

Qualifications
- Strong interest in girl-child health, education, gender equality, and community development.
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with children, adolescents, parents, educators, and community leaders.
- Organizational and time-management skills to support events, workshops, and outreach activities.
- Comfort with basic digital tools (email, word processing, messaging platforms) for hybrid and remote collaboration.
- Experience or interest in facilitation, mentoring, or teaching is an advantage.
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Residence in Nigeria and willingness to participate in in-person activities when required.
- Prior volunteering or community service experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
