Forward Deployed Site Reliability Engineer, Government - London

Triumphant Nerd is searching for a Forward Deployed Site Reliability Engineer/Infrastructure Engineer to build and operate reliable, scalable production systems for our client’s UK government deployments. 🇬🇧

We're looking for an engineer with 1–5 years of infrastructure engineering or SRE experience who writes production software and enjoys solving complex reliability challenges. You'll own infrastructure operations, automate manual processes, and collaborate with engineering teams to deploy and improve mission-critical services.

What we're looking for:

• 1–5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, SRE, or software engineering
• Hands-on experience building, operating, and maintaining large-scale production systems
• Must write production software regularly and pass a live coding assessment; scripting alone is insufficient
• Tech stack: Java, Python, Go, or JavaScript; Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and CI/CD
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, configuration management, troubleshooting, and infrastructure upgrades
• Background in defense technology or a technically complex organization
• Terraform, Ansible, and infrastructure automation experience are a plus
• Degree in CS or software engineering from an accredited university is required
• Clearance: Must already hold active UK DV clearance and sole British nationality; no dual nationality or visa sponsorship.
• Hybrid work in London; must live or relocate within 30 minutes of the secure site, with onsite attendance for classified work and on-call requirements
• Participation in an on-call rotation approximately every 5–6 weeks
• Salary: £90K–£105K plus RSUs
• Relocation assistance available for candidates outside London
