Lab Technician

We are seeking a skilled, responsible, and detail-oriented Lab Technician to perform laboratory tests, operate laboratory equipment, prepare samples, and maintain accurate testing records. The successful candidate will support laboratory operations by following established procedures, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring reliable test results.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, receive, label, and prepare samples for laboratory testing.
  
• Perform routine laboratory tests and procedures according to approved protocols.
  
• Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
  
• Prepare reagents, solutions, and testing materials as required.
  
• Record, review, and maintain accurate laboratory results and documentation.
  
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control requirements.
  
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of samples and laboratory materials.
  
• Monitor laboratory supplies and report shortages to the supervisor.
  
• Identify equipment issues or testing irregularities and report them promptly.
  
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the laboratory.
  
• Follow infection control, health, and safety procedures where applicable.
  
• Assist senior technicians and laboratory professionals with daily activities.
  
• Maintain confidentiality of patient or client information.
  
  
  
  

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a relevant scientific field.
  
• Previous experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting is preferred.
  
• Practical knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and sample handling.
  
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment, instruments, and safety practices.
  
• Understanding of quality control, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
  
• Good computer skills and ability to maintain digital laboratory records.
  
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  
• Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  
• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
  
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
  
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional standards.
  
• Willingness to work shifts when required.
