Mathematical Reasoning and Formal Verification

We develop AI models and software for mathematical reasoning and formal verification. Our product, Super, checks whether code satisfies specified properties across all possible inputs, producing counterexamples when properties fail and formal proofs checked in Lean when verification succeeds.

The work

The role combines research and software engineering. Depending on your strengths, your work will include:

• Developing models and algorithms for mathematical reasoning and proof search.
• Implementing and evaluating reasoning and inference systems, with attention to correctness, performance and computational cost.
• Building software verification tools and integrating formal proof checking.
• Turning experimental methods into reliable production software.

Your background

We are looking for strong programming or mathematics/computer science research ability, experience with mathematical reasoning, and the ability to translate unfamiliar technical ideas into working code. Relevant backgrounds include machine learning, compilers, systems programming, automated theorem proving and formal verification. Experience in all these areas is not required.

Location and compensation

The position is based in Sydney, primarily on-site. Relocation support is available.
