Role Overview: The Procurement Transplant RN Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of solid organ procurement for transplant teams, primarily focusing on pre-transplant activities. They collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams to assess organ offers, interpret laboratory and patient data, and determine organ suitability according to UNOS policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and plan disposition of organ offers, including understanding when organs are not acceptable.
  • Coordinate care during donor organ offers, ensuring timely transportation and surgical procurement.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory protocols and document all activities accurately.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams, interpret lab results, and participate in meetings such as Selection, QAPI, and Organ Review.
  • Handle on-call duties on a rotating basis, providing leadership and participating in research and community activities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a minimum of three years RN experience, including ICU/PCU/ED or recent procurement/transplant experience.
  • Preferred certifications include CPTC or CCTC; experience as a transplant coordinator is highly valued.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, communication, and computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively interact at all organizational levels.

Additional Details: The role requires current RN licensure, BLS certification, and willingness to work variable shifts, including nights and weekends. Candidates should reside within 100 miles of Rochester, MN, or be willing to relocate. This position is eligible for TN sponsorship and offers comprehensive benefits.
