Role Overview: This registered nurse position involves providing specialized care on a 21-bed Gastroenterology unit, focusing on patients with complex GI disorders such as bleeding, liver failure, hepatobiliary dysfunction, cancer, and inflammatory bowel disease. The nurse will support discharge planning, patient education, and holistic care tailored to those with chronic illnesses and comorbidities.

- Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient services and family education.
- Support transitions of care and ensure comprehensive discharge planning.
- Implement a holistic nursing approach to meet diverse patient needs.
- Provide leadership through mentoring, participation in quality improvement, and committee involvement.
- Delegate patient care based on skill level, acuity, and resource availability.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program with at least one year of RN experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, team collaboration, and computer proficiency.
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to unpredictable situations.
- Current RN license, BLS certification, and additional state or specialty certifications as required.
- Leadership qualities, critical thinking, and mentoring abilities.
