Sr/Staff Software Engineer - On Site 5 days NYC - Local candidates only

Position Summary

Our client, an AI fintech that just closed a large Series A from top-tier VCs, is building the AI operating system for the CFO office. Their agents reconcile cash, run invoicing, maintain subledgers and keep companies audit-ready, while finance teams step in only where judgment is needed. Revenue is growing fast, and they’re signing major enterprise and AI-native customers.

They’re hiring 2 to 3 engineers to own the platform layer every product team ships on top of.

What you’ll own

• Agent frameworks, orchestration, verification, observability and developer tooling
• The financial data platform that ingests, normalizes and reconciles data from ERPs, banks, billing, payroll and CRMs into one source of truth
• Architecture decisions under ambiguity, shipping full stack when the work calls for it
• Direct conversations with controllers and customers to turn real finance workflows into reusable platform abstractions

What they’re looking for

• 4 to 12 years building production backend, data or distributed systems
• Experience with LLM agents, orchestration or evals, or a strong platform/data infrastructure background and real interest in AI
• Comfort owning systems end to end and working directly with customers
• Financial data experience (ledgers, reconciliation, banking or ERP integrations) is a big plus

The details

• $180K to $270K base, plus meaningful early-stage equity
• Report directly to the CTO in a small, flat team
• 5 days onsite in Midtown Manhattan
