Chief Business Officer – Global Markets

Role Description The Chief Business Officer – Global Markets is a part-time role responsible for leading strategic business initiatives that expand the department’s presence and partnerships in international markets. This hybrid position is based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates, with flexibility for some work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and developing global collaborations, managing key relationships with academic and industry partners, and advising on market-driven program development and positioning. The role involves conducting market and financial analyses, supporting business planning and revenue growth strategies, and providing consulting-style guidance on international opportunities. The Chief Business Officer will work closely with departmental leadership to align global market initiatives with the department’s academic mission and long-term goals.

Qualifications

• Strong Analytical Skills to interpret complex data, assess market trends, and support evidence-based decision-making.
• Proficiency in Finance to evaluate financial models, budgets, and revenue opportunities in global markets.
• Experience in Business Development to build partnerships, expand networks, and drive growth initiatives.
• Background in Consulting or Management Consulting to provide strategic advice, optimize operations, and support organizational change.
• Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across academic and industry settings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
• Experience working in or with higher education, actuarial science, mathematics, or related quantitative fields is highly beneficial.
• Relevant advanced degree in business, finance, economics, mathematics, actuarial science, or a related discipline preferred.
