Construction Accountant

Position Summary

The Construction Accountant manages GBC's day-to-day accounting and financial control functions and provides accurate, timely financial information to management and project teams. This role is responsible for maintaining reliable job cost records, safeguarding confidential financial information, and ensuring that payroll, vendor payments, owner billings, and financial reporting comply with GBC procedures.

Employment Type: Full-Time (Remote)

Work Schedule: U.S. Time Zones (6:00 PM to 2:00 AM Pakistan Time)

Location Requirement: Candidates must be residents of Pakistan.

Primary Responsibilities

• Administer payroll, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), vendor setup, employee reimbursements, lien releases, bank reconciliations, recurring expenses, and month-end close activities.
• Maintain accurate project and cost code records.
• Prepare job cost reports, cash flow reports, AR aging reports, AP/set-to-pay reports, and twice-monthly management reports.
• Coordinate with Project Managers (PMs) regarding owner billings and forecasting support.
• Support tax filings, audits, bonding requirements, insurance compliance, licenses, certificates of insurance (COIs), preliminary notices, and other accounting or compliance-related deadlines.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and strong internal financial controls.

Minimum Requirements

• Proficiency in Sage 100 and Procore is required.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and construction accounting processes.
• Excellent spoken and written English skills, with the ability to understand contracts, financial records, correspondence, and job cost documentation.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and follow-through.
• Ability to meet recurring payroll, billing, reporting, and compliance deadlines.
• Previous U.S. construction accounting experience is mandatory.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working remotely with U.S.-based construction companies.
• Knowledge of construction job costing, progress billing, and subcontractor compliance.
