Database Administrator

Role Description This part-time remote Database Administrator role at El Test de Turing - Podcast de Inteligencia Artificial focuses on ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of the podcast’s data systems. The Database Administrator will manage and maintain database environments, perform regular backups and recovery tests, and monitor database performance. Day-to-day tasks include optimizing queries, managing access controls, implementing replication strategies, and troubleshooting database-related issues. The role also involves collaborating with technical and content teams to support data-driven decisions and ensure smooth integration between databases and podcast platforms.
Qualifications

• Strong skills in Database Administration and Databases, with experience managing production environments.
• Proficiency in Database Design, including schema design, normalization, and performance-oriented architecture.
• Ability to perform Troubleshooting for database performance, errors, and connectivity issues.
• Experience configuring and maintaining Replication and other high-availability solutions.
• Knowledge of SQL and at least one major relational database system (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server).
• Understanding of database security best practices, backup and recovery strategies, and monitoring tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and data integrity.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders.
• Relevant education or certifications in computer science, information systems, or related fields are preferred.
