The Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Sustainability Director to lead and oversee our sustainability strategy, environmental initiatives, ESG programs, and corporate responsibility objectives.

This part-time remote leadership position is suited to a senior professional with extensive experience in sustainability management, ESG strategy, environmental management, and corporate governance.

The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership, operational teams, investors, regulatory stakeholders, and strategic partners to integrate sustainability into business operations, improve environmental performance, and support long-term organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive sustainability strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
• Lead the organization's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives and sustainability programs.
• Establish sustainability objectives, performance indicators, and measurable environmental targets.
• Develop and oversee carbon reduction, energy efficiency, and resource conservation initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve environmental performance.
• Oversee sustainability reporting, ESG disclosures, and environmental performance assessments.
• Monitor developments in international sustainability standards, environmental regulations, and ESG frameworks.
• Support the development and implementation of responsible business practices and corporate sustainability policies.
• Identify opportunities to integrate renewable energy, clean technologies, and circular economy principles into business operations.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, procurement, human resources, and executive management teams.
• Develop sustainability risk assessments and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Support sustainable supply chain management and responsible procurement initiatives.
• Build relationships with government authorities, environmental organizations, investors, and sustainability partners.
• Evaluate sustainability performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Promote environmental awareness and sustainability culture throughout the organization.
• Support ESG investment initiatives and sustainable business development opportunities.
• Lead sustainability projects and coordinate implementation across relevant departments.
• Monitor sustainability-related costs, investments, and potential business benefits.
• Prepare sustainability reports, executive presentations, and strategic recommendations for senior management.

Requirements

• At least 8–10 years of relevant professional experience in sustainability management, ESG leadership, environmental management, or corporate responsibility preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability Management, Environmental Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, ESG, or an MBA is an advantage.
• Proven experience developing and implementing sustainability strategies and ESG programs.
• Strong understanding of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and sustainability reporting.
• Knowledge of international sustainability frameworks and standards, such as GRI, ISSB, GHG Protocol, and relevant ISO standards.
• Experience with carbon accounting, greenhouse gas emissions reporting, and environmental performance monitoring.
• Understanding of renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste management, and sustainable resource utilization.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations, corporate governance, and sustainability compliance.
• Strong strategic planning, analytical, and project management abilities.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing cross-functional sustainability initiatives and strategic partnerships.
• Ability to translate sustainability objectives into measurable business outcomes.
• Experience in international sustainability markets, particularly the UAE and GCC region, is an advantage.
• Familiarity with ESG reporting software, sustainability analytics, and environmental management systems is an advantage.
