Energetics Safety & Assurance Officer

Role Description The Energetics Safety & Assurance Officer is a part-time position in a hybrid work arrangement, based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates, with some work-from-home flexibility. The role involves overseeing safety practices in hydrogen-related projects, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, and security standards. The officer will support incident and accident investigations, maintain safety documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement of safety protocols and training materials. Daily responsibilities include advising project teams on safe work methods, coordinating safety briefings, monitoring implementation of corrective actions, and collaborating with technical experts to integrate safety considerations into research and consulting deliverables.

Qualifications

• Strong Health & Safety and Occupational Health skills, with the ability to apply safety frameworks to hydrogen and broader energy projects.
• Experience in Accident Investigation, including root-cause analysis, incident reporting, and development of corrective and preventive actions.
• Knowledge of Security practices relevant to industrial and research environments, including risk mitigation and compliance with local regulations.
• Proficiency in Safety Training, including designing and delivering training sessions, toolbox talks, and safety workshops for diverse teams.
• Relevant degree or professional qualification in safety, engineering, or a related field; certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are an advantage.
• Familiarity with hydrogen, energy, or process industries, and awareness of international HSE standards and best practices.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural, hybrid work environment.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks in a part-time role and maintain high standards of integrity and professional judgment.
