Senior Commercial Officer

Role Description The Owner role at TATA STEEL TECHNICAL SERVICES LTD is a part-time, remote position responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight of the company’s technical service operations. Day-to-day activities include reviewing business performance, setting priorities, and making decisions related to resource allocation, partnerships, and key projects. The Owner will coordinate with managers and technical teams to ensure that service quality, client satisfaction, and operational standards are maintained. This role involves monitoring financial health, assessing risks, and guiding long-term growth initiatives while upholding regulatory and safety requirements. The position requires consistent remote communication, documentation review, and participation in virtual meetings with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in business ownership, executive leadership, or senior management within industrial, engineering, or manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of steel manufacturing processes, technical services, or related heavy industry operations.
• Proficiency in strategic planning, financial oversight, and decision-making for business growth and risk management.
• Effective remote communication skills, including the ability to collaborate virtually with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to provide governance, set priorities, and ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
• Relevant academic background in engineering, metallurgy, business, or a closely related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability in managing confidential and sensitive business information.
