The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Physiotherapist to provide advanced physiotherapy assessment, treatment, rehabilitation planning, clinical education, and multidisciplinary care.

The ideal candidate will deliver evidence-based physiotherapy interventions, manage complex clinical cases, support patients with acute and chronic conditions, contribute to rehabilitation programs, and provide clinical leadership and mentorship to physiotherapy and rehabilitation teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments covering mobility, strength, range of motion, balance, coordination, posture, gait, functional capacity, pain, and physical performance.
  • Obtain and review relevant medical history, diagnostic information, referrals, clinical notes, and previous treatment records.
  • Develop individualized physiotherapy assessments, treatment plans, rehabilitation goals, and discharge plans.
  • Provide evidence-based physiotherapy interventions based on patient needs, clinical findings, functional goals, and medical considerations.
  • Treat patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, orthopedic, cardiopulmonary, sports-related, and other physical conditions within scope of practice.
  • Provide rehabilitation for acute injuries, chronic conditions, post-operative recovery, functional limitations, and mobility impairments.
  • Deliver therapeutic exercise programs tailored to individual functional capabilities and rehabilitation objectives.
  • Provide manual therapy and other appropriate physical treatment techniques within professional competence and clinical guidelines.
  • Implement mobility, gait, balance, coordination, strengthening, flexibility, endurance, and functional training programs.
  • Assess and manage pain using appropriate physiotherapy and rehabilitation approaches.
  • Develop progressive rehabilitation programs and adjust treatment according to patient response and clinical progress.
  • Provide post-operative rehabilitation following orthopedic, musculoskeletal, neurological, and other relevant procedures.
  • Support patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, soft-tissue injuries, spinal conditions, and other physical impairments.
  • Assess fall risk and implement appropriate balance, mobility, strengthening, and falls-prevention interventions.
  • Provide rehabilitation for neurological conditions affecting movement, coordination, balance, strength, and functional independence.
  • Support cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and physical conditioning where appropriately qualified and clinically indicated.
  • Develop home exercise programs and provide clear instructions for safe and effective independent exercise.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on exercise techniques, mobility, posture, ergonomics, pain management, injury prevention, and self-management.
  • Assess the need for mobility aids, orthotic support, assistive equipment, and environmental modifications.
  • Provide training and education on safe use of walking aids, wheelchairs, transfer equipment, and other assistive devices.
  • Monitor patient progress using appropriate clinical measures, functional assessments, outcome tools, and patient-reported outcomes.
  • Modify treatment plans when progress, clinical condition, risks, or patient goals change.
  • Identify clinical deterioration, red flags, contraindications, and situations requiring medical referral or escalation.
  • Maintain appropriate clinical communication with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences, rehabilitation planning, discharge planning, and clinical reviews.
  • Coordinate rehabilitation goals across multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistent and patient-centered care.
  • Provide clinical advice to colleagues regarding complex physiotherapy and rehabilitation cases.
  • Support junior physiotherapists, interns, assistants, and rehabilitation staff through supervision, mentoring, and case discussion.
  • Conduct clinical teaching, skills development, and knowledge-sharing sessions for physiotherapy and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Review clinical documentation and provide feedback to support high-quality physiotherapy practice.
  • Promote evidence-based practice and incorporate current clinical research and professional standards into treatment approaches.
  • Review relevant clinical guidelines, research evidence, and emerging rehabilitation techniques.
  • Contribute to the development and review of physiotherapy protocols, clinical pathways, treatment guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical documentation for all patient encounters.
  • Document assessments, treatment interventions, clinical progress, outcomes, recommendations, and discharge plans.
  • Ensure appropriate confidentiality and secure handling of patient health information.
  • Obtain appropriate patient consent before assessment and treatment in accordance with organizational requirements.
  • Identify and report clinical incidents, adverse events, safeguarding concerns, and safety risks through established procedures.
  • Apply appropriate infection-prevention, patient-safety, manual-handling, and clinical-risk-management practices.
  • Ensure physiotherapy equipment is used safely, maintained appropriately, and inspected according to applicable requirements.
  • Support quality-improvement initiatives designed to improve clinical outcomes, patient experience, access, and rehabilitation efficiency.
  • Monitor physiotherapy service performance and contribute to clinical audits and outcome evaluations.
  • Support the development of patient education materials, rehabilitation resources, exercise programs, and clinical information.
  • Provide remote physiotherapy consultations and follow-up where clinically appropriate and supported by organizational protocols.
  • Use approved digital platforms for tele-rehabilitation, clinical communication, documentation, and patient education.
  • Assess the suitability of patients for remote physiotherapy and identify cases requiring in-person assessment.
  • Coordinate follow-up appointments and monitor adherence to rehabilitation plans.
  • Encourage patient engagement, self-management, adherence, and active participation in rehabilitation.
  • Address barriers to rehabilitation participation and develop practical strategies to improve treatment adherence.
  • Communicate treatment goals, expected outcomes, risks, and rehabilitation timelines clearly to patients and caregivers.
  • Maintain professional development through continuing education, clinical training, professional literature, and relevant certifications.
  • Participate in professional meetings, case reviews, clinical supervision, and service-development initiatives.
  • Provide management with reports on clinical activity, patient outcomes, service quality, operational issues, and improvement opportunities.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate should have strong experience in physiotherapy, physical rehabilitation, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, orthopedic rehabilitation, sports rehabilitation, or related clinical environments, preferably within hospitals, rehabilitation centers, outpatient clinics, healthcare organizations, or multidisciplinary care settings.

The candidate should demonstrate:

  • Appropriate professional qualification in Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy.
  • Valid professional registration or licensure applicable to the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Strong clinical experience assessing and treating patients with diverse physical and functional conditions.
  • Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal, neurological, orthopedic, and general rehabilitation principles.
  • Experience developing individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans.
  • Strong clinical assessment, reasoning, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Experience using therapeutic exercise, functional rehabilitation, manual therapy, mobility training, and other appropriate interventions.
  • Strong understanding of pain management and injury rehabilitation.
  • Experience managing complex or high-risk rehabilitation cases.
