Role Overview: The registered nurse (RN) provides specialized care on a 21-bed gastroenterology/medical unit, focusing on patients with GI disorders such as bleeding, liver failure, cancer, and inflammatory bowel disease.

- Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care, education, and care transitions.
- Support professional nursing practices across various settings and levels of care.
- Engage in discharge planning, patient education, and holistic nursing approaches tailored to patients with chronic illnesses.
- Demonstrate leadership through preceptor roles, mentoring, quality improvement, and committee participation.
- Delegate care based on skill, experience, acuity, and available resources.
- Possibly drive personal vehicles as part of job duties.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program; at least one year of RN experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, teamwork, critical thinking, and adaptability.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records; prior experience preferred.
- Current RN licensure, BLS certification, and additional state or specialty certifications as required.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
