Role: Registered Nurse providing specialized care in a gastrointestinal/medical unit.
Responsibilities: Deliver direct patient care, educate patients and families, coordinate transitions of care, and support discharge planning for patients with complex GI disorders, liver failure, hepatobiliary issues, cancer, and inflammatory bowel disease. Emphasize holistic nursing, patient education, and discharge planning to meet diverse patient needs. Support professional practice through leadership, mentoring, and quality improvement activities. May include driving responsibilities for some employees.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited nursing program and at least one year of RN experience. Must hold a valid RN license, BLS certification, and meet additional licensure or certification requirements. Strong communication, teamwork, critical thinking skills, and computer proficiency are essential. Flexibility to work variable hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is necessary. For new graduates, support through a Nurse Residency Program is available.
