Role Overview: This registered nurse position involves providing specialized care in a gastrointestinal/medical unit, primarily supporting patients with complex GI disorders such as bleeding, liver failure, hepatobiliary issues, cancer, and inflammatory bowel disease. The nurse will deliver direct patient care, patient education, and coordinate transitions of care, emphasizing discharge planning and holistic nursing approaches.

- Coordinate nursing care within the practice model, ensuring effective communication and documentation.
- Support patient and family education, focusing on chronic illness management.
- Participate in leadership activities, quality improvement, and mentorship roles.
- Assist with complex discharge planning for patients with multiple comorbidities.
- Adhere to standards outlined by ANA Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; minimum of one year RN experience required.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in computer systems and electronic medical records preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Current RN license and BLS certification required; additional state licensure or certifications may be necessary.
