Senior Health & Safety Specialist

Role Description The Senior Health & Safety Specialist is a part-time, remote role responsible for overseeing and enhancing health, safety, and environmental practices across WM Fencing Limited’s construction-related operations. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing and updating H&S policies and procedures, conducting remote risk assessments and method statement reviews, and advising project teams on compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards. The specialist will monitor incident reports, analyze trends, and recommend corrective actions, as well as design and coordinate safety training programs for staff and contractors. The role also involves collaborating with management to drive a positive safety culture, preparing reports for leadership, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in occupational health, workplace safety, and environmental performance.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Health & Safety and Workplace Safety skills, with proven experience in construction or a similar high-risk environment.
• Candidates should possess expertise in Occupational Health and Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including familiarity with relevant regulations and best practices.
• Candidates should possess Safety Training skills, including the ability to design, deliver, and evaluate effective training programs for diverse teams.
• Candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports, policies, and guidance documents.
• Candidates should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment abilities, with attention to detail and sound judgment.
• Professional health and safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent) and experience in the construction sector are highly beneficial.
• Candidates should possess the ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time hours effectively, and collaborate virtually with project teams and leadership.
